Human surface biosensing (HSB) is a broad term that enclose an emerging research and industrial field which explore, mine, and interface physiological and behavioral measures that can be obtained using noninvasive sensors from the skin, or attached to the body, including electrical, magnetic, thermal, optic and mechanical sensors.
Electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), electrooculography (EOG), electrocardiography (EKG), functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), galvanic skin response (GSR), arterial blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure (BP), breathing rate (BR), among many others HSB techniques are extensively used to study, for example, learning, memory, attention, language acquisition, sensory and motor functions, emotion, and even social interactions. All of them also serve in the development of diagnostic and remediation tools, treatment selection and evaluation, and human machine interfaces, to mention a few.
In NEWENCODE we have a vast experience and knowledge in how HSB techniques work, what their outcomes are, what are the best tools, algorithms, and pipelines to explore them, and even how to integrate and communicate them using a scientific language.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
An overall working pipeline and its stages is as follows:
In Cognitive Neuroscience, for example, we perform Time Series Analyzes of any nature, be these Eye Tracking, ERPs, EMG, EEG, MEG, fNIRS, or tDCS/TMS-EEG/ERP combinations, etc. Among these studies we can perform Harmonic Analysis (Fourier, Wavelets, Time-Frequency Analysis, QEEG, etc.), Source Localization, Biomarkers Exploration, and Advanced Analytics, including Machine Learning.
